I joined The King David High School in 1996 after four years of teaching in Lancashire. I began my journey here as a Mathematics teacher and, over the years, have had the privilege of serving in a range of roles, from Head of Year to Deputy Head, before being appointed Headteacher in December 2025.

This school is far more than a workplace to me—it is my passion and my community. To have played a part in the lives of so many pupils over the past 30 years, watching them grow, flourish, and go on to achieve remarkable things both within and beyond our community, has been a true honour.

I wholeheartedly believe that we can be the very best educational environment for every Jewish pupil. Seeing our students thrive—socially, emotionally, and academically—is a privilege I never take for granted, and it inspires me every day.

I have taught for over 25 years in state and independent schools in some of the world’s great cities; London, Manchester, Rome and Wolverhampton. The King David High School is the best school that I’ve worked in which is probably why I’ve now been here for 15 years.

I love working with the friendly, inspiring young people and my dedicated and talented colleagues. As well as occasionally teaching History, I lead on curriculum and teaching and learning as Deputy Headteacher and am passionate about education and its power to transform lives and life chances, and to make the world a better place.

My connection to The King David High School runs deep – it began when I walked through these doors as a pupil, and it's where some of my fondest memories were made. Those formative years shaped who I am today and ignited a passion for education that has never left me.

Returning to King David in a leadership role feels like coming home. I'm driven by a clear mission: to make this school outstanding in every sense of the word. But more importantly, I'm committed to doing it for every single pupil who walks through our doors – no matter their starting point. Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, to discover their potential, and to leave here equipped for a successful future.

This school gave so much to me, and now it's my privilege to give back – ensuring that the next generation of King David pupils (including my own children) receives the very best education and support we can provide.

I am proud to be an Assistant Headteacher at King David High School, serving the Jewish community in Manchester. I have responsibility for Personal Development, which includes PSHE, careers, extracurricular activities and educational visits, all of which are key to ensuring that students who attend King David High School leave as well-rounded citizens, prepared for life beyond high school.

Following a career in construction, I completed my PGCE at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013, and gained my first teaching post at King David High School as a member of the Geography department, where I have been since.

The best thing about King David High School is the pupils, and is a privilege to work with them and help to ensure that they go on to thrive and live happily in an ever-changing world.

It has been a pleasure to join the team at King David. At King David the sense of community is so strong, I have soon come to feel at home here.

Working with students with additional needs is somewhat of a calling. I have worked in many roles throughout my varied career. Working along side students and their support network to make a difference, no matter how small is an absolute honour.

It is wonderful to be part of a staff body that places such importance on inclusion. I thoroughly believe in high support and high expectations for all students. As educators, we look to provide students with the knowledge and skills to be respectful, impactful and independent citizens.

I joined The King David High School fourteen years ago, and it has been a privilege to grow alongside the school and its pupils. Over time, my role has become a personal mission: to help shape confident, knowledgeable young people who are proud of their Jewish identity and ready to contribute positively to the wider world.

As Head of Jewish Studies, I believe our department sits at the heart of a Jewish school. Our aim is not only strong academic outcomes, but to ensure that every student leaves King David with a clear understanding of their faith, pride in their heritage, and a meaningful connection to their community and to Israel. Jewish education should be rigorous, relevant, and inspiring.

Through the study of the Hebrew Bible, Jewish law, and Jewish thought, we encourage students to see their Judaism not simply as a school subject, but as a living source of values, responsibility, and purpose. A central part of our work is personal growth: developing character, integrity, resilience, and kindness, so that our students strive not only for academic success, but to become thoughtful, principled individuals. It is a privilege to partner with families in nurturing the next generation of proud, engaged members of the Jewish community and responsible citizens of British society.

Having been involved in both formal and informal education for the last 19 years, it has been a privilege to apply myself to the dedicated pupils at King David High School. Being responsible for the Jewish activities and experiences outside of the classroom, the primary focus has always been to reinforce the knowledge gained in lessons and bring our Judaism to life for each and every pupil.

The vibrant atmosphere that we have cultivated at King David High School is thanks to the continued support and consideration of all staff, which permeates through everything that we do. The pupils draw from this interaction and raise the levels of engagement, allowing the whole school to celebrate together and carry one another.

We continue to strive to build on past successes and innovate new ideas in order to raise the standards across campus. Thank you for your continued support and consideration in facilitating our ability to provide the highest quality programming for your children.
