Pupils & ParentsSafety & Security
Text
The safety and security of pupils, staff and visitors at the King David High School is a priority. The school works closely with the Community Security Trust (CST) to ensure appropriate, proportionate and effective security arrangements are in place.
Community Security Trust (CST)
CST is a nationally recognised organisation that supports Jewish schools with professional advice, training and guidance around security and safeguarding. The King David High School follows CST guidance on security procedures, risk assessment and incident response. Security arrangements are reviewed regularly to ensure they remain appropriate and effective.
Parental Security Rota
Alongside professional security measures, the school operates a Parental Security Rota. This provides an additional visible presence at the start and end of the school day and supports the school’s wider safeguarding culture.
Parents who get involved help by:
-
Providing a visible, reassuring presence at agreed times
-
Being observant and reporting concerns to school staff
-
Supporting the calm and safe arrival and departure of pupils
Volunteers are not expected to intervene or place themselves in difficult situations. Clear guidance is provided, and all actions are carried out in line with CST advice and under the direction of the school.
We need your support, now more than ever and we ask all parents to do their bit. Volunteers are asked to participate for 45 minutes (8.15 am – 9.00 am or 3.10 pm – 3.50 pm) whenever you are able. Ideally, we would like parents to commit to a weekly slot, or even monthly slot, but if this is not possible, every parent is asked to cover at least one shift each term. Kit and training are provided – no expertise or other skills are required. The role of the Parent Rota is to provide a visual deterrent and to watch out for any unusual or suspicious activity around Campus at the busiest times of day.
Please contact: parentalrota@kdhigh.co.uk with your contact details and which day and time is best for your shift.
Please do not leave this to other parents – the security of all the children on Campus is paramount.
As part of volunteering, Mark Isaacs of JPS Chartered Surveyors very kindly continues to support and sponsor the rota for any parent who has a child who needs a place at breakfast club or after school club if this coincides whilst their parents are on a rota shift.
